This page explains the cookies and similar technologies used on softpatrols.com, what each one does, and how to change your choice at any time. It covers this website only — the SoftPatrol application itself, which your guards and operators log into, is covered by your service agreement and our privacy policy.
Nothing that is not strictly necessary runs before you choose. When you first arrive, a banner asks whether you consent to analytics and business-visitor tools. Until you accept:
Rejecting is exactly as easy as accepting, and takes one click. Your choice is remembered for six months, after which we ask again.
Change your mind at any time.
You can also clear cookies for this site in your browser, which resets the choice entirely and makes the banner appear again.
These are required for the site to work and for forms to be secure. They are not used for tracking or advertising, and consent is not required for them.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
PHPSESSID | softpatrols.com | Keeps your session while you complete a form, and holds the security token that protects submissions against cross-site request forgery. | Until you close your browser |
sp_consent_v1 | softpatrols.com | Remembers your cookie choice so you are not asked on every page. Records only "granted" or "denied" and when. | 6 months |
_GRECAPTCHA | Set by reCAPTCHA on pages with a protected form, to distinguish people from automated abuse. Loaded only on those pages. | About 6 months |
These only operate if you accept. They help us understand which pages help security companies make a decision, and which organisations are researching us.
| Service | Provider | What it does | Typical cookies |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics 4 | Aggregate statistics: pages viewed, how visitors arrived, and whether an enquiry was submitted. Used to improve the site. | _ga, _ga_<id> — up to 2 years |
|
| Google Tag Manager | A container that loads the tags above. It does not set its own cookies. | None of its own | |
| Leadfeeder | Dealfront | Identifies the organisation a visitor is likely browsing from, using network information, so we can follow up with businesses researching us. It does not identify you personally by name. | _lfa — up to 2 years |
| Visitor Queue | Visitor Queue | Company-level visitor identification and on-site personalisation, for the same purpose. | Vendor-set, first and third party |
Being straight about what Leadfeeder and Visitor Queue do. They are business-to-business tools that infer the company a visit came from. We use them to spot security firms researching us so we can get in touch. They are treated here as non-essential and are withheld entirely unless you accept — which is why they appear in this section rather than being described as "analytics".
Some pages embed services that may set their own cookies when you interact with them:
These providers act under their own privacy notices. We do not control the cookies they set.
Beyond the banner, every major browser lets you block or delete cookies — usually under Settings → Privacy. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop our contact forms working, because the security token that protects them cannot be stored.
Under UK GDPR you can ask what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to certain processing, and withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawing cookie consent takes one click above.
To make a request, email info@softpatrols.com. If you are not satisfied with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
If we add or remove a service that uses cookies, we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will reset the consent banner so you can make a fresh choice.
